Getting Started: Knitting Socks by Ann Budd guided me through the process. Magnificent book. I know this book will continue to inspire me to try more complicated sock patterns. Can’t wait!

They look scrumptious. I think the picture below has been pinned (along with a link to the recipe) at least a couple thousand times on Pinterest.

With them, we will have chicken breasts stuffed with spinach, red pepper, prosciutto, and fontina. We are also going to try Lone Madrone’s 2008 Old Hat which is 77% zinfandel and 23% petite sirah.

I did not slave away in the kitchen though. I purchased the chicken breasts (already prepared) from Target, of all places. They look beautiful. Meanwhile, I have spent my afternoon watching Downton Abbey.

Last minute. Cameras were all we needed. Oh, and our good friend Jill to look in on the pups.

White Water Inn on Moonstone Beach Drive. Simply perfect. Quiet. Restful. Toured the beach at sunset and sunrise. Enjoyed walking the Bluff (or Marine Terrace) Trail in Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. Checked out W.R. Hearst Memorial Beach.

From there, we stopped at Jada for wine tasting. Lone Madrone and Kenneth Volk Vineyards were suggested to us. Lone Madrone was a lucky find. Kenneth Volk was closed for the Super Bowl.

No memorable food to speak of…

While Rob drove us home, I knitted…and knitted…and knitted. Fantastic way to spend a drive.

Working on a beginner pattern in order to learn how to knit the heel flap, turn the heel, knit the gusset, etc. The final step will be felting them. Only problem is, now have a front-loading machine.
