Dream about their next meal. We debate what we will fix. Every calorie counts.
We love our wedges. Ever since I looked at the label for the blue cheese dressing I was buying in the grocery store and noted that the first ingredient was soybean oil, we have been making our own. This time, we used a modified version of the “reduced” fat recipe from Joy of Cooking.
The following ingredients were blended in the Cuisinart: 1/4 cup olive oil mayo, 3/4 cup buttermilk, a heaping 1/4 cup blue cheese, a couple shakes of Penzey’s Creamy Peppercorn Dressing Base, and fresh ground pepper. Delicious!
Never thought I would say this, but I am bored with coffee. In a phase, I guess. So, I have been whipping up homemade mochas this weekend. The hot cocoa consists of 2 cups 1% organic milk, 1 heaping tablespoon Penzey’s High Fat Dutch Process Cocoa, 1.5 tablespoons sugar, a dash of vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Fill the mug 1/2 way with hot cocoa, the other 1/2 way with coffee, and top with homemade whipped cream. Decadent (but less so than half the beverages on the Starbucks menu) and affordable (also unlike most items on the Starbucks menu)! Cheers!
